Hydraulic Puller – Features and its Applications
In our day to day life we see many jobs around us that require pulling out of press fitted and taper fitted parts such as gears, bearings, fly-wheels, pulleys, sleeves, couplings, sprockets etc. Such a type of job becomes easier by the use of a Hydraulic puller. The use of a hydraulic puller makes the work easier and does not damage the components. This enables the operator to save time and costly replacement of parts.
Hydraulic pullers are the compact power packs. Such packs are completely portable and can be operated at any level of working pressure. A Hydraulic power is mainly applied by the help of a hand operated pump.
Hydraulic pullers are used to set the efficient removal of gears, bearings, wheels, pulleys etc. The hydraulic power in a form of a puller does not need for hammering or heating and offers a controlled means of applying force.
Let us understand the working of a hydraulic puller. These pullers have an inbuilt hydraulic ram pump assembly. This arrangement avoids the need of making cumbersome hose connections and thus eliminates the possibility of any kind of oil-leakage. A hydraulic puller also has some safety release valves which help to provide protection from accidental rise of uncontrollable pressures. These hydraulic pullers are very convenient and versatile tools. Along with it they are quick tools. Such tools are ideal for use in case of heavy duty applications in gears, bearings, pulleys, wheels, shafts, axles, couplings, break drums etc.
The hydraulic pullers are used for large applications. They can be used in auto repair shops, shipyards, railroads, paper mills, steel plants etc. The hydraulic pullers are very useful when it comes to time and cost saving. The use of such pullers offers high working safety operations. The use of hydraulic puller can increase the efficiency of a labor intensive job. High quality, durability and comfortable usage of hydraulic pullers are its well known features.
Today a hydraulic puller is the basic tool used in any industry. It is also used for maintenance purpose. The hydraulic puller has a cylinder shaped ram fitted in puller body. It has two or three jaws to grip the items which are to be pulled. During is working operation the ram moves ahead by a hand pump. There is also a cylinder shaped container which is supplied along with the puller and is removable for any other kind of external usage.
A hydraulic puller is used in limitless applications such as removing bearings, gears, wheels, pulleys, etc. The use of a hydraulic puller ensures to reduce time consumption, avoid hammering and heating and thus does not offer any damage. Its use also eliminates heavy fatigue from the shoulders of the worker.
Hydraulic pullers are strong, compact and portable. Cylinder is out of the puller frame which is also used for jacking, spreading, pipe bending, pressing and in many other applications.
